Cops say Adrian Gordon, 24, fled Canada following the slaying of Jesse Tubbs, 30, of Mississauga, who was found shot on the ground at the rear of a building in the area of Isabella and Jarvis Sts. on May 22 at 12:18 a.m.

Tubbs died in hospital days later.

In the aftermath of the shooting, one area resident told the Toronto Sun that “there is always some conflict there.” The man said he and a friend looked out the window after the shot and saw two women and a male fleeing the dimly lit parking area.

“There is a lot of drugs there, this alley here. There is always chaos or drugs,” the resident told the Sun.

Toronto cops issued a warrant for Gordon for first-degree murder, warning the suspect was “armed, violent and dangerous.”

The accused’s flight to freedom reportedly ended at a four-storey apartment block in bucolic Luton, about an hour north of London.

According to cops, investigators were tipped off that the 5-foot-6, 130-pound man was hiding in Luton. They asked the National Crime Agency in London for an extradition.

Neighbours told the UK Sun they were shocked the suspected killer was in their midst, noting Gordon “kept to himself and was polite.”

“I woke up to a massive scream and found out later that the police had raided the building and arrested him,” student Pavel Klimowicz told the newspaper.

“To know he is one of Canada’s most wanted men is crazy. There’s kids and families living here so thank God something worse didn’t happen.”

Another added:  “It’s incredible to think he was wanted for a murder.”

An Instagram page last used in 2015 described Tubbs as a “certified personal trainer.”

A tribute page in Tubbs’ name said: “Jesse Tubbs was a beautiful soul whose passion and energy touched everyone around him. His unwavering commitment to helping others through fitness defined his life’s mission.

“Jesse worked closely with people of all ages and backgrounds, treating their health with the utmost respect and importance. His dedication was evident in every interaction, as he inspired and guided countless individuals to achieve their best selves.”

In addition to striving to reach the top of the fitness pyramid by earning his IFBB Pro card, Tubbs worked in construction.

Besides the first-degree murder charge, Gordon was also wanted for aggravated assault, discharging a firearm with intent to wound, possession of a firearm knowing possession is unauthorized, and possession of a loaded restricted or prohibited firearm.

Gordon appeared in court last Tuesday — the day of his arrest — and was remanded in custody until Sept. 30 pending an extradition hearing.

Police have not released a motive. None of the charges have been proven in court.
