His play partner, police say, was the stunning Khazar Elyassnia and together the duo strode like giants through San Francisco’s swinging sex party scene.
And then, Lee, 43, was discovered stabbed to death in Frisco’s Rincon Hill neighbourhood.
Homicide detectives say Lee’s killer is his married paramour’s big brother, Nima Momeni, who was enraged at the lurid lifestyle the pair were leading.
The explosive investigation has pulled back the curtain on San Francisco’s coterie of billionaire techie swingers and their sexual antics.
Lee — who became a billionaire by founding Cash App — was allegedly confronted by Momeni on the night he was murdered. Big brother seethed over his sister’s alleged drug use and “getting naked” at a party, according to court documents.

Momeni is slated to go on trial for first-degree murder on Sept. 18 in San Francisco.
Earlier on Lee’s last night, Elyassnia had called her brother sobbing. She begged Momeni to retrieve her from a dope dealer’s apartment.
According to prosecutors, Momeni, 40, was furious that Lee had failed to protect his sister, who he believed was the victim of an attempted rape. Khazar and others in attendance denied she had been sexually assaulted.
Rolling Stone reported that witnesses claimed that Elyassnia, party pal Aranza Villegas and Lee had been whooping it up at the home of twice-convicted dope dealer Jeremy Boivin.
Eventually, Lee departed the April 2023 bash while Elyassnia and Villegas kept partying. Boivin allegedly gave them the powerful sedative drug GHB.

According to a brief from the DA’s office, Villegas crashed. But when she awoke, Elyassnia was sobbing and changing her clothes. She then called her brother and husband, famed plastic surgeon Dr. Dino Elyassnia, to get her.
Afterward, Momeni called Lee. The court brief said her brother “proceeded to aggressively question” him about what had unfolded in Boivin’s party pad.
“(Momeni) interrogated Mr. Lee about drug use in the apartment, Khazar’s conduct, and specifically about ‘the girls getting naked’ at Mr. Boivin’s apartment,” according to the DA’s brief.
Villegas told Momeni that nothing inappropriate occurred at the apartment. It did nothing to placate Momeni, who texted his sister suggesting she speak to a lawyer about her “attempted rape case.”

She replied: “Bob never touched me. No one did.”
Momeni then slammed his sister for “f***ing up.” She shot back that he was “psychotic” and scared her.
By the early morning of April 4, 2023, it appeared the air had cleared and Momeni and Lee spent time together at little sister’s apartment. They left together around 2 a.m.
Lee was later discovered stabbed three times with a butcher knife taken from his girlfriend’s house. He died in hospital.

Momeni has claimed he acted in self-defence and that Lee was the aggressor. His legal eagles say Lee was hammered at the time of the slaying and it was the tech king brandishing the knife.
“Specifically that Mr. Momeni stood his ground after Mr. Lee attacked him with a weapon,” his team in his defence.
But prosecutors have a few cards up their sleeve, including a video of Momeni making “three stabbing gestures with his hand” while speaking with a private eye.
Momeni texted his sister when she asked about her departed lover: “I don’t know what (Lee) ended up doing at the bar or strip club, I just came home.”
